We look forward to hearing from all our members!

Hey Art League members!
We will have a terrific demonstration by master photographer, Robert Suddarth this coming Sunday. We will also be voting on our bylaws and final nominations for our election in November!
I hope to see everyone there this Sunday (Oct. 11th at 2pm at the Garden and Arts Center)

We had a dreary day for our regular membership meeting Sunday and so not as many people showed up. However, We did get a little business taken care of. We selected a Nomination Committee, Maggie Jackson, Gayle Rice, and Robert Hudnall, from the Advisory Board, Judy Robertson, and Carol Koenig, from the general membership. They will canvas the membership and select interested members to fill the positions of President, Vice Presidentm Secretary , and Treasurer. The treasurer at this time is Jim Jenkins, Advisory Board member Kyra Jenkins husband. Jim is not a member of the Art League, but he is a certified public accountant and legally it doesn't matter whether he is a member.
The voting will take place at the November meeting. For those people that cannot possibly make the November meeting, let any member of the Advisory Board know and a ballot will be mailed to you and you can return it in a sealed envelope which will be opened at the November meeting. Please be mindfull that the nominee list could change right up to election day with cancelations or additions, so you may want to wait on these changes before sending your ballot in.If there are questions, please feel free to call, or email me, or any member of the Advisory Board,
I will be posting information on busterjones.com often about future art activities shows workshops, art tips,or just plain old chit chat. Thanks. Buster.

On the mail in ballots, I failed to add in my previous message, if you have to send in an absentee ballot,
Send it to Paula Griffith in the GAC office. We want to use every precaution with your vote. Thanks.

My last posting flew off somewhere in cyberspace so here it is again.
The first 3rd Saturday concert is this coming Saturday Evening. We start at 6:30 and end at 9:30. We are having the Martin Country Band from Levelland, Buddy and Tina Wright Band from Lubbock, and Country Club with Keith and Betty Smith. We hope you support these concerts because the Money that will be gained from these concerts will pay for needed projects like a needed sound system, a picture display system and many many other things that are needed by the GAC. This is a good way to give back. Remember, these entertainers donate their time and energy for free. If they didn't, we sure could not afford to have it. Buddy and Tina Wright get good fees for their concerts, they are just getting back from Austin, and I think we're lucky to have them. Thanks for your support. Buster.

I've been working with the nominating committee and I think we are just about ready to post our ballot! We've only got 19 days until our election and I hope everyone will participate in the process!
If you have any comments or questions, please feel free to post on our site or send an email to any board member.
Don't forget to vote!

Our first scheduled concert was held Saturday Evening October 17 and for the first offering it was a success. I appreciate the members that attended and I think you will agree, the three groups we had was outstanding. These bands donate their time and talents to these musicals to help us out and there is a lot of work involved with each concert, in addition to the talent. My thanks to everyone who helped. Buster.

I'm sorry that there wasn't enough support at the GAC to continue with the 3rd Saturday music concert. If you want to follow these wonderful entertainers, they will be at a location on South University on the 3rd Saturday. If you are interested in coming out for an evening of entertainment, email me or give me a call. Thanks to all, and let's give Maggie our support in 2010.
I hope you keep up with busterjones.com there will be some things of interest on there and I will try and keep it current. Buster.

I was saddened to learn that one of our members, Robert Maize, passed away on December 15, 2009. He had been battling a long illness and will be missed.

Hello all!
My name is Brent Caldwell. I am a new member of the ALWT -- I am the huge-tall-shaggy/flippy blonde hair guy that came to the meeting the other week. I am really excited about being a member of your organization! I work in a variety of media, mostly airbrush, calligraphy, and photography. My style is primarily realism and photorealism, although I do a broken color and/or abstract from time to time. I am teaching a course in beginning calligraphy at the GAC beginning March 2nd 6-9pm.
Anyhow, great to meet all you guys and I look forward to a great year!
Brent Caldwell
